Join NOLS instructor and adventure photographer Oscar Manguy (https://www.360north.co) for a hybrid outdoor photography course designed for DSLR and mirrorless camera users.
Through weekly online sessions and monthly field days, you'll sharpen your technical skills, master composition and light, and learn to tell powerful visual stories rooted in nature.
From autumn forests to frozen landscapes, we’ll explore the beauty of western Finland while developing your creative voice behind the lens.
This course is for photographers ready to move with purpose, shoot with intention, and connect deeply with the outdoors.

Format: Hybrid (online weekly + in-person monthly)
Online Classes (TEAMS):
Day/Time: Tuesdays, 18:00–20:00
12 online sessions (weekly from early September to mid-December)

In-Person Field Days (Saturdays):
Time: 10:00–17:00
4 in-person field days (one per month, Sept–Dec)

Autumn color + forest photography
Coastal light + storytelling in movement
Low light, mood, and minimalism
Winter landscapes + editing session with fika

- DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual settings
- Tripod (compact or full-size)
- Notebook and pen
- Extra batteries and memory cards
- Weather-appropriate clothing (layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves)
- Backpack for day outings
- Headlamp
- Reusable water bottle + thermos
- Snacks/lunch for field days

- Remote shutter release
